Have you ever wondered who’s the highest-paid model in the world? Well, we’re about the reveal all below!
As you’ll be able to see from our list, the popularity of a model is usually reflected in their pay. It seems brands prefer to partner with famous faces, leaving the newer models to work their way up.
So, let’s get into it! Here are the top 10 highest-paid female models of 2021:
Kendall Jenner is famous for being one of the Kardashian sisters. She started modelling at the age of 14, which you can see in early episodes of Keeping Up With The Kardashians and now earns over $40 million per year. She has worked with some of the biggest fashion and beauty brands of all time including Givenchy, Chanel, and Calvin Klein. Jenner was the highest-paid model in 2020 and remains the same in 2021.
American model and TV personality Chrissy Teagen is just $1M shy of the top spot, coming in as the second highest-paid female model. Chrissy was scouted in the surf shop she worked in at the age of 18, in California by a model scout and has since worked with global brands including Gillette Venus, Olay and Nike.
Since 2001, Gisele Bündchen has been one of the highest-paid models in the world. In fact, in 2007, she was the 16th richest woman in the entertainment industry and earned the top spot on Forbes top-earning models list in 2012.
Gisele has also been a Victoria’s Secret Angel from 1999 until 2006 and now works with brands such as Givenchy and Versace.
The British beauty began her career over 18 years ago and had since campaigned for Burberry, Victoria’s secret, Ugg’s, amongst many others. As a result, Rosie earns an impressive $32 million every year placing her firmly on the list of the top 10 highest-paid female models.
Former Brazilian beauty pageant winner Adriana Lima is the longest-running Victoria’s Secret Angel and earns a huge $31 million annually. She is currently an ambassador for IWC, Puma, Maybelline, and Chopard.
Like Adriana, Cara earns a very impressive $31 million. She has appeared in shows for major fashion houses like Dolce and Gabbana and Burberry making her one of the highest-paid female models in the world. After leaving school in 2009, Cara signed with Storm Management and has since won Model of the Year at the British Fashion Awards twice, in 2012 and 2014.
In 2016, Gigi Hadid was named International Model of the Year by the British Fashion Council. Since then, she had made 35 appearances on international Vogue magazine covers. She now walks in major fashion shows and has endorsements from numerous big brands.
Gigi’s younger sister, Bella is the face of Dior Beauty, she’s also a Bulgarie and Tag Heuer ambassador. Bella walks for fashion brands in Paris, New York, and Milan. Like her sister, she’s one of the highest-paid models in the world with a $19 million annual salary.
The Puerto-Rican face of Estee Lauder earns around $19 million each year. She was first booked to walk in the Spring/Summer 2010 catwalk show for Givenchy and was quickly named ‘Model of the Year’ at Style Awards, just two years later in 2012. She quickly gained supermodel status walking for luxury labels including Alexander Wang, Burberry and Fendi as well as 6 Victoria’s Secret shows, notably wearing the longest wings of all time at the 2016 show.
Last but certainly not least is Liu Wen, who brings in around $18 million per year. Liu was the first model of East Asian descent to walk Victoria’s Secret fashion show. She has also worked with Oscar de la Renta, Dolce and Gabbana, Hugo Boss amongst many others.
But what about the highest-paid male models? It’s well-known that often male models aren’t paid as much as female models.
Although, the current highest-paid male model in the world is American model Sean O’Pry. Sean earns a remarkable $1.5 million every year making him the highest-paid male model of all time.
He was discovered as a teenager through his myspace profile and has gone on to work with some of the most notable fashion brands ever including Calvin Klein, Versace, Ralph Lauren, and many more.
